Courses and Workshops

Stott Pilates Education is known in the industry as the "Ivy League" of Pilates education. STOTT PILATES® courses provide a balanced and thorough blend of theory, observation and practical experience to help you master the repertoire.

The Intensive course Programs are for individuals already working in fitness or involved with movement or physical therapy and those looking for a career change who would like to begin training whilst working full time.

 

Admission requirements

1) A working knowledge of functional anatomy and prior participation in an anatomy course of 30-40 hours in-class instruction. Course should cover:- Human Musculoskeletal System Origins/Insertions and Actions of Muscles

2) Minimum 30 hours participation in Pilates Classes/workouts.

Recommended

3+ years teaching movement or fitness. Applicants with a strong history of Pilates participation and/or experience instructing students/clients in another field may also be considered. At Principle Pilates we run the following coures:-

Intensive MAT Plus Course (IMP) - Contact Chrissy for the next dates.

Covering the STOTT PILATES® Essential and Intermediate repertoire you will leave with a solid foundation and the skills to develop effective and motivating STOTT PILATES® Matwork programs for individuals or group training sessions for a range of clients. A 40 hour course in the format of 8 x 5 hour days conducted over 2 weeks or 3 weekends.

Intensive Mat-Plus

Intensive Reformer Course (IR) -September 15-17, 29-30/ October 1, 28-29/ November 11/12

Covering the STOTT PILATES® Essential and Intermediate repertoire you will leave with a solid foundation and the skills to develop effective and motivating Stott Pilates Reformer programs for individuals or group training sessions for a range of clients. A 50 hour course in the format of 10 x 5 hour days conducted over 3 weeks or 4 weekends.

Advanced Reformer Course - Please contact Chrissy for dates

Learn to use the various Reformer components and accessories to intensify the Reformer repertoire and provide a stimulating workout for highly conditioned clients, athletes and dancers. During the 3 days this 18 hour course teaches exercises that require strength, stability and flexibility.

Intensive Cadillac Course (ICAD) - Please contact Chrissy for dates

To register for this course you must have completed either or both the IMP and IR course. Covering the Stott Pilates Essential and Intermediate repertoire you will leave with a solid foundation and the skills to develop effective and motivating STOTT PILATES® Cadillac Trapeze table/Vertical Frame programs for individuals or group training sessions for a range of clients. A 25 hour course in the format of 5 x 5 hour days conducted over 1 weeks or 2 weekends.

 

Advanced Cadillac (ACAD) Course - Please contact Chrissy for dates

ACAD presents 28 advanced level exercises plus modifications using the Cadillac Trapeze Table for the highly conditioned client. Applicants must have completed the ICAD or CCB course as a pre-requisite.

 

Intensive Chair Course (ICHR) - Please contact Chrissy for dates

To register for this course you must have completed either or both the IMP and IR course. Covering the Stott Pilates Essential and Intermediate repertoire you will leave with a solid foundation and the skills to develop effective and motivating Stott Pilates Stability Chair programs for individuals or group training sessions for a range of clients. A 15 hour course in the format of 3 x 5 hour days conducted over 3 days or 1 long weekend.

This 3 hour course equips you with 14 advanced level exercises on the Stability Chair for the highly conditioned client.

Intensive Barrels Course (IBRL)

To register for this course you must have completed either or both the IMP and IR course. Covering the STOTT PILATES® Essential and Intermediate repertoire you will leave with a solid foundation and the skills to develop effective and motivating STOTT PILATES® Ladder barrel, Spine Corrector and Arc Barrel programs for individuals or group training sessions for a range of clients. A 10 hour course in the format of 2 x 5 hour days conducted over 1 weekend.

 

Advanced Barrels

This 3 hour course equips you with 14 advanced level exercises plus modifications using the Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and Arc Barrel for the highly conditioned client.

ISP ( Injuries and Special Populations ) - Contact Chrissy for dates

This course will equip you with the skills required to address a broad range of physical challenges among your clients. Includes:

• Approaches to rehabilitating an injured musculoskeletal system
• Anatomy and biomechanics, dysfunctions and pathologies, and exercise modifications in the: lumbo-pelvic, cervical, upper quadrant, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and foot regions
• Pregnancy, fibromyalgia and other special conditions plus workout design
• Appropriate modification of Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Stability Chair and Barrel exercises

ZEN*GA Mat Foundation Course/ ZEN*GA Equipment Foundation Course - Contact Chrissy for dates

No previous STOTT PILATES® experience required but a background in fitness or movement modalities is recommend i.e.: Pilates, Yoga, Dance, Tai Chi. A synergistic blend of Pilates, Yoga and dance these Foundation courses are supported by the latest exercise science and findings in fascial fitness. They focus on core stability, stamina and resilience while attaining a state of presence and releasing body tension through purposeful movement. The use of Balls and springs increase the demand on the neuromuscular system and allows the participant to reap the benefits of improved strength, fitness, clarity, enhanced elasticity and creates a more youthful, resilient and fluid body.

ZEN represents the search for inner discovery, while YOGA symbolizes a pathway to reach it. Together they form ZEN*GA®, which is based on Four Mindful Movement Principles: breath, support, yield and flow. When applied together, these principles bring awareness of how the body and the mind move in tandem.

To earn the designation as a ZEN*GA® Instructor, attend the relevant course to receive a Certificate of Completion. There is no examination within this course. A one day 7 hour course (plus 1 hour lunch break)

Well-educated, quality instructors are not easy to find, which can seem like a huge barrier to growth. We can deliver quality instructor training, certification courses and workshops on-site at your facility with step-by-step support in every area. Your instructors can earn CECs and train with no additional expenses for travel, or even be subsidised by you as a benefit.

Keep your staff up-to-date on the latest in mindful movement, exercise science and choreography so they can keep their classes fresh for existing clients while also attracting new clients to your business.

Workshops can be adapted to weekday or weekend modules to fit participants' busy schedules and reduce travel time and extra costs. Chrissy will handle the administration on your behalf and ensure smooth running of the course/workshops.
